History of the Philosophy of Law Seminar
The Philosophy of Law Seminar was established in 1955. The seminar is one of the oldest instutes of the entire department.
Since its founding, the Philosophy of Law Seminar under the leadership of distinguished figures such as Prof. Arnim Kaufmann, Prof. Zaczyk, and Prof. Jakobs, has been particularly focused on the philosophy of criminal law. Since the appointment of Prof. Dr. Laura Münkler in 2023, this focus has expanded to include the perspective of constitutional and administrative law.

It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to Prof. Dr. Rainer Zaczyk, who shaped the Department of Legal Philosophy for many years with great dedication and scholarly depth.
