Martin Kucera
Research Assistant and Ph.D. Candidate
Martin Kucera is a research assistant and doctoral candidate working with Prof. Dr. Svenja Hippel as part of the project “Legal and Societal Consequences of Machine Decision-Making,” which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). He is involved in Subproject 4, which focuses on the use of artificial intelligence in civil proceedings.

- Since August 2026: Research Assistant at CASTLE, and Deputy Director of the Law and Economics Program Office
- March 2022 – July 2026: Research assistant (as a student until August 2023) at the administrative office of the Law and Economics program
- December 2023 – May 2025: Research assistant at the Institute for Tax Law at the University of Bonn under Prof. Dr. Rainer Hüttemann
- Introductory Seminar on Law and Economics in the Winter-Spring Semester 26/27
- October 2023 – July 2026: Major in Law at the University of Bonn, specializing in Area VI: Business Law, Competition Law, and Data Protection Law; graduated with the First State Examination in Law
- October 2020 – September 2023: Bachelor’s program in Law and Economics at the University of Bonn; graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
- 2020: High school diploma from the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt Gymnasium in Bonn
Other Positions and Memberships
Martin Kucera is one president of the alumni association for the Law and Economics program. He also serves as a volunteer judge on the Bonn Football District’s sports court.
During his studies, he served as a mentor in the Law and Economics program to support students in their early semesters.
