Library
The library of the Institute for Roman Law and Comparative Legal History is a reference library; with its extensive collection, it is one of the best-stocked libraries specializing in Roman law in Germany. Items cannot be checked out. For further research, you may also use the catalog of the University and State Library of Bonn.
Visitors may only enter the library without jackets and bags/backpacks!

The institute's library holds approximately 25,000 books, 2,900 journal volumes, and has 32 active subscriptions.
Library use
The library is open during the hours listed and may be used in accordance with the library regulations.
Research
There are various options available for conducting literature searches, including our “Green Cards.”
Copying, Printing, and Scanning
Copying and printing are not available at the institute; however, scans can be made upon consultation with the staff.

On-site Use and Accessibility
Our library is located on the 2nd floor of the West Tower and is accessible by elevator. Parking spaces for people with disabilities are available behind the building.
