Director of the Institute for Public International Law

Professor Stefan Talmon, D.Phil. LL.M. M.A. holds the chair for public law, public international law and European Union law. Prior to his present appointment in October 2011, he was a lecturer, reader and most recently Professor of Public International Law at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of St. Anne's College, Oxford (2003-2011). Professor Talmon is also a barrister and advises States and international corporations on questions of international law. He holds German and British citizenship.

Professor Talmon is the author and editor of numerous publications on public international law. He also contributes regularly to 'German Practice in International Law (GPIL)'.
