Background

On August 5, 2013, the regulations governing the awarding of the master's degree “Magistra iuris”/“Magister iuris” in law at the Faculty of Law and Economics of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn came into force.

According to § 1 (2) of these regulations, the master's degree is awarded as an academic university degree (§ 66 (2) HG NRW) after completion of the state examination course in law (provided that all requirements have been met and the application has been submitted in good time).

This is not an independent consecutive or continuing education master's program.

At the same time, the regulations for awarding the university degree “Diplom-Juristin” or “Diplom-Jurist” dated August 7, 2002, ceased to be in force.
