Interesting facts
The department’s logo was designed by Dan Bastian Trapp (Institute for Public Law). It depicts the central intertwining of the two ‘S’s in the paragraph symbol.
It is also inspired by the mosaic façade of the Juridicum in Bonn. This was created in 1969 by the Hungarian-French painter and graphic artist Victor Vasarely. It is a variation on his 1956 work ‘Ríu-Kíu’. Vasarely is regarded as the leading exponent of so-called ‘Op Art’ (optical art), an international artistic movement of the 1960s.
All students in the department have access to their own stud.iur. logo, which can be downloaded here as an image file. This logo can be used to indicate affiliation with the department, e.g. in presentations, lectures or on business cards.

Doctoral theses are also archived, although the majority of these have not yet been catalogued. The exact contents are listed in a database.
