Teams der Universität Bonn
University of Bonn's Vis Moot Team 2025/26
Alexandra Schott is 20 years old and currently studying law in her fifth semester at the University of Bonn. She has been working as a student assistant at the German Jurists Forum for over a year, where she is responsible for member organization. Additionally, she recently joined the German Arbitration Institute (DIS), supporting projects related to international arbitration and gaining valuable insights into alternative dispute resolution. This experience has sparked her keen interest in arbitration as an efficient and flexible method to resolve complex cross-border disputes outside of traditional court systems. Alexandra completed an internship with the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag, assisting the Committee on Home Affairs. She speaks German, English, and Spanish, bringing an international perspective to both her academic and professional endeavours. As a member of the Vis Moot Team, she looks forward to further developing her legal reasoning and advocacy skills and to representing the University of Bonn on a global stage.
Maximilian Johannes Wallny is 20 years old and currently studying law in his fifth semester at the University of Bonn. Since the first semester, he has been working as a student assistant at the Institute for International Private Law and Comparative Law under Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Birke Häcker, where he assists with legal research and contributes to the editorial process of academic publications. Over the summer, he also completed an internship at a renowned law firm, gaining practical insights in the field of construction law. These academic and professional experiences have further developed his legal writing, analytical thinking, and communication skills, while also sparking his interest in international private law and arbitration. Drawn to the global and intercultural nature of the Vis Moot, Maximilian is particularly motivated by the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded peers from different legal backgrounds and to grow both academically and personally. He looks forward to deepening his understanding of the CISG and arbitration while working with a committed and resourceful team.
Lisa-Marie Knechtle is 21 years old and currently studying law in her fifth semester at the University of Bonn. Inspired by her first encounter with the Willem C. Vis Moot Court as an observer, she set herself the goal early in her academic journey to one day participate in this prestigious international competition. To complement her academic studies with practical experience, she works as a student assistant at the Chair of Labor Law and Social Security Law, held by Prof. Dr. Gregor Thüsing, LL.M. (Harvard). In addition, she actively contributes to student engagement as Vice President in charge of Seminars and Conferences at ELSA Bonn e.V., where she coordinates academic events designed to foster student exchange and dialogue. Her commitment is recognized by a merit-based scholarship awarded by the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. For Lisa-Marie, participation in the Willem C. Vis Moot Court represents a unique opportunity to bridge academic reasoning with practical legal advocacy in an international context. She is honoured to have been selected for the team and looks forward to immersing herself in the intensive preparation process, approaching the challenge with full commitment, enthusiasm and a passion for advocacy.
Melissa Rings is 19 years old and currently studying law in her fifth semester at the University of Bonn. Earlier this year, she successfully participated in the EDMC Moot Court, where her team reached the national finals in Hamburg. This experience strengthened her research, writing, and oral advocacy skills and sparked a lasting enthusiasm for moot court competitions. Since March 2025, Melissa has been working as a student research assistant at the Institute for German and International Civil Procedure Law under Professor Dr. Brinkmann, gaining valuable insights into academic work in the field of civil procedure law. Melissa is excited to further refine her legal English and argumentative abilities in an international, English-speaking setting. She looks forward to working closely with her teammates and engaging in intercultural exchange during the Moot Court.
