Digitalization and IT

Our university is advancing digital transformation by creating innovative learning environments, streamlining administrative processes and strengthening our position as a forerunner in research and teaching.

The Faculty of Law and Economics, together with the Department of Law, play a central role in this endeavor. We enhance in-person instruction with digital tools, offer fully-online teaching formats, foster collaborative learning and integrate AI-supported teaching and skills development. These initiatives will enable the next generation of legal professionals to thrive in a rapidly evolving legal job market.

Digital Management

The digitalization management assists the Dean’s Office, the Department, as well as the institutes and chairs in establishing and further developing an internal IT governance structure at faculty and departmental levels.

This includes identifying, connecting and coordinating all relevant stakeholders within the faculty and department, developing a digital strategy of its own that encompasses and integrates the dimensions of teaching, research, and IT services, as well as establishing new and flexible structures that can quickly adopt and advance digital innovations.

The Digitalization Management also contributes to the university-wide process for implementing and dynamically developing the digital strategy by taking part in the activities of the strategy process. In particular, by representing the faculty or department in cross-functional discussion rounds on related topics, by participating in and overseeing projects of the Digital Science Center (DiCe), and collaborating in dialogue on all topics related to digitalization, such as data protection and IT security or state, national, and European programs.
