Scientific Director – Law

Dr. jur. Amelie Böcker (Ass. jur.) pursued her legal education from 2013 to 2020 at two prestigious institutions: the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Université Paris-Sud XI. Her academic background is primarily in the field of economic and competition law. Additionally, she successfully completed a three-semester, specialized foreign language training program for legal professionals (FFA) with a particular emphasis on the legal systems of the United Kingdom and the United States. Following the successful completion of her first legal state examination, she engaged in a one-and-a-half-year period of employment as a scientific employee at the Cologne-based economic and competition law firm CBH Attorneys. During her tenure as a legal intern at the Landgericht Bonn, she successfully completed her doctoral studies in the field of trademark law, subsequently receiving the academic title of Doctor of Laws (Dr. iur.) in 2024. In that same year, she successfully completed her second state examination in law, thereby attaining the status of a fully licensed attorney.

Since June of 2025, she has been employed as a scientific director in the field of law at the Center for Medical Data Usability and Translation. The primary function of the position at hand is the provision of legal counsel to interdisciplinary dissertations and research projects, with a focus on ensuring the compliance with data protection regulations concerning access to and utilization of medical data. Additionally, the position entails the acquisition of external funding.
