Chair of Civil Law, Commercial Law, Corporate Law and Civil Procedure
The research at Prof. Dr. Alexander Scheuch’s chair focuses on the dynamics and diversity of private-law associations. Whether corporations with limited liability, Partnerships or associations – the research examines the structures of collective decision-making, corporate law disputes and the legal framework for social engagement. At the same time, the scope extends beyond traditional corporate law: topics such as corporate sports law, in particular, continually present new challenges. Research, teaching and practical engagement in a lively dialogue – always with the aim of bringing private law to life in its academic, practical and social significance.

PhD Opportunities
Professor Scheuch primarily supervises the doctoral research of his research staff. Those interested in pursuing a PhD should therefore keep an eye on the relevant job advertisements. If no positions are currently advertised, this generally means that no research assistant post will become available in the foreseeable future.
To ensure intensive doctoral supervision, external doctoral studies are only possible in exceptional cases. In all cases, applicants must demonstrate qualifications well above the average and submit a detailed research proposal that thoroughly outlines the existing research gap, methodology and approach of the planned study, as well as the timetable for completing the doctoral thesis.
