* Only takes place if more than five German teams are registered. Otherwise, the team will go directly to the International Round in The Hague. If more than five teams register, the teams that qualify for the International Round in The Hague will be determined on the basis of a problem-solving question or a national preliminary round. In the last five years, neither a national preliminary round nor problem-solving questions has taken place, so it can be assumed that the team will qualify directly for the International Round in The Hague.
