Information session

Towards the end of your third FFA semester, you will have the opportunity to sit a mock exam. You will receive the questions and the answer key by email. We recommend that you complete the exam under conditions similar to those of the actual exam.

This will be followed by an information session on the final examination, to which you will be invited separately. There, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the mock exam and the FFA exam for real. The session will take place at the end of the semester via Zoom.

The basis for the examination is Section 4 of the UNIcert® Training and Examination Regulations. You can find the examination regulations here.

Yes. In accordance with § 8 Abs. 3 of the UNIcert® Training and Examination Regulations (2017), a written application for admission to the examination must be submitted. You can find the relevant form here on this page, as well as the applicable dates and deadlines for registration on the FFA homepage. Please note that various documents must be attached to the application (§ 8 Abs. 4 of the UNIcert® Training and Examination Regulations) and, where applicable, a declaration must be made as to whether the examination has been failed previously or definitively. Please refer to the form for details.

In accordance with the decision of the UNIcert® Examination Board, no supporting documents within the meaning of Section § 8 Abs. 4 Nr. 2 of the UNIcert Training and Examination Regulations (certificates of regular and successful attendance at the individual courses) need to be attached for any examination session. We already have the necessary information on file.

Yes. In accordance with § 12 Abs. 1 of the UNIcert® Examination and Examination Regulations (2017), you may withdraw from the examination electronically via the FFA email address no later than one week before the relevant examination date. To do so, please send an email to ffa@jura.uni-bonn.de.

What should I do if, unexpectedly, I am unable to sit the exam for a valid reason (e.g. illness)?

In accordance with § 12 Abs. 3 of the UNIcert® Training and Examination Regulations (2017), you may withdraw from the examination even after the withdrawal deadline has passed. Please notify the UNIcert® Examination Board of your withdrawal in writing without delay. You may do so by email (preferred) to ffa@jura.uni-bonn.de. The reasons given for withdrawal or for a failure to attend must be substantiated in writing without delay. To prove that you were unable to sit the examination due to illness, you must submit a medical certificate confirming your inability to sit the examination.

What happens if I fall ill during the exam?

In accordance with § 12 Abs. 3 of the UNIcert® Regulations for Training and Examinations (2017), you may withdraw from the examination even after it has begun. Please consult a doctor on the same day to confirm that you are unfit to sit the examination. Please note: In individual cases, the UNIcert® Examination Board may require the submission of a medical certificate from a university medical officer if there are sufficient factual grounds to assume that the candidate is likely to be fit to sit the examination or if other evidence appears appropriate. Withdrawal after the start of the examination is generally not permitted, particularly if the candidate has already been able to view the examination tasks or has gained knowledge of them by other means. If the UNIcert® Examination Board accepts the evidence of withdrawal due to illness or other valid reasons, the examination attempt shall be deemed not to have taken place.

Each part of the examination is marked independently by two examiners.

    A Level III UNIcert® certificate.

As soon as the exam results are finalised (approximately 8 weeks after the exam), you will receive written notification setting out all your exam results and marks. The certificate will state your overall mark, the marks for the written and oral exams, and (for information purposes) the marks for the individual components.
