Institute for Legal History
The so-called "German" legal history serves the function of connecting legal scholarship with other disciplines and faculties — not only with history and philosophy within the "philosophical" faculty, but also, due to the influence of theology on law, with the theological faculties. Equally fruitful are the connections with other historical disciplines, such as the history of medicine or economics. Legal history must fulfill these functions in order to enable a vibrant, multifaceted scholarship at this institution.
