Visiting Fellowship Programme at the Institute of International and Comparative Private Law

The Institute of International and Comparative Private Law is delighted to be able to host academic visitors from all over the world as part of its new Visiting Fellowship Programme.

The programme is designed for senior researchers (post-doc level and beyond) who want to come to the University of Bonn for a period of typically between one and six months in order to conduct self-directed research on a project in the field of comparative law and/or private international law. The programme is also intended to foster academic interaction with members of the Institute and the Faculty more generally.

The Institute can provide a dedicated workspace for the duration of the stay, but it is not in a position to help organise or finance other aspects of the research visit. Visiting Fellows should be prepared to give a short presentation about their project during their visit and should have a good command of English. German language skills are useful, but not essential.

Visiting Fellows are selected from a gathered field several times a year in a competitive process taking into account the Institute’s capacity constraints. The relevant application deadlines are end of March, June, September and December every year.

Interested applicants are asked to upload a single pdf file bearing their name and containing the following documents into our online portal:

* Completed application form

* Academic CV and list of publications,

* Short description of research project (max. 2 pages),

* Supporting letter from home institution regarding the proposed research visit,

* Up to two academic references (optional).
