CENTRE FOR MEDICAL DATA USABILITY AND TRANSLATION (ZMDT)
The ZMDT
As an inter-faculty centre at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, we see ourselves as a link between the Faculties of Law and Political Science, Medicine, and Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
The centre brings together experts from various disciplines. For us, interdisciplinary collaboration is not the exception but part of our everyday practice – enabling us to develop innovative solutions that bridge the gap between theory and practice. This generates new impetus for research, teaching and societal application – in a cross-disciplinary, forward-looking and effective manner.
The focus is always on reconciling data protection with the usability of (medical) data – whilst taking into account technological progress, the current legal framework and recent legal developments, as well as the necessary level of social acceptability.
