Jara Brandenberg

Jara Brandenberg (born 1999) passed her first legal examination at the Cologne Higher Regional Court in July 2024. Her path took her to the University of Bonn early on, where she attended lectures at the Department of Law as part of the FFF program parallel to her secondary school education. After completing her A-levels in spring 2018, Ms Brandenberg worked for a non-profit organization in South Africa. From the 2018/19 winter semester, she studied law in Bonn, specializing in corporate law. In May 2025, Ms Brandenberg also received the ‘Certificate of Advanced Studies’ in Regulation of Global Sport from the Université de Lausanne for her final project on Third-Party Standing to Sue, which was awarded the highest grade.
During her studies, Ms Brandenberg completed internships at the Higher Regional Court of Koblenz and at the Federal Institute for Sports Science. She also worked as a student assistant at the Institute for German and Rhenish Legal History from 2020 to 2024 and at Flick Gocke Schaumburg from 2021 to 2023. Most recently, she was employed as a research assistant at Bird & Bird in the Corporate/ M&A Team (Düsseldorf) and Intellectual Property/ Litigation Team (Munich) while completing her university specialization.
Since October 2024, Ms Brandenberg has been working as a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial, Corporate and Civil Procedure Law (Prof. Dr. Alexander Scheuch). Her PhD is dedicated to third parties in (sports) arbitration.
In the winter semester 2024/25, Ms Brandenberg gave the lecture European Corporate Law together with Prof. Dr. Scheuch. During the summer semester 2025 she offers a tutorial in Schuldrecht BT II.
