Born in 1985, attended school in Dorsten and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Graduated from high school in 2004.
Studied law at the University of Münster from 2005 to 2010 as a scholarship holder of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. Specialised foreign language training (Common Law) from 2005 to 2007. Additional training in The Law of the Legal Profession and Journalism and Law.
Research assistant at the Institute for International Business Law in Münster (Chair of Prof. Dr. Ingo Saenger) from 2010 to 2013. Doctorate in 2013. Dissertation ‘Der Scheingesellschafter der Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts - unter besonderer Berücksichtigung fehlerhafter Eintragungen in der GmbH-Gesellschafterliste’ (on ostensible partners); awarded the faculty's Harry Westermann Prize.
Legal traineeship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne from 2013 to 2015, followed by work as in-house lawyer at professional football club 1. FC Köln.
Lecturer at the Institute for International Business Law (Prof. Saenger) in Münster since the end of 2015. Member of the Young Collegeof the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts from 2017 to 2021. Habilitation 2020 (Thesis: ‘Rechtsirrtum und Rechtsungewissheit bei Anspruchsverfolgung und Anspruchsverteidigung’ on legal mistake). Authorised to teach Civil Law, Civil Procedure Law, Commercial, Corporate and Business Law.
From 2020, substitute professorships at the University of Osnabrück (European Legal Studies Institute) and at Justus Liebig University Giessen (Professorship for Civil Law and Business Law).
On 1 March 2022, accepted an appointment to a W2 professorship at the University of Bonn, rejecting an appointment to a professorship at the BSP Business & Law School Berlin. Rejection of appointments at Julius Maximilians University Würzburg (2022) and Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (2023). Since March 2024, holder of a W3 professorship at the University of Bonn.
