The chair's specific research interests concern questions of the threshold between labor and social law with adjacent disciplines, especially constitutional law, European law and civil law. Apart from the laws of collective bargaining and industrial dispute, the labor law-related laws of default and termination as well as social insurance law are further research focuses.
Labor and social law possess a highly practical relevance. Thus the research activities requirement is to combine fundamental research with practical access to real conflicts.
The range of the regularly offered lectures includes, on the one hand, all sub-areas of labor and social law with their European and constitutional law references. On the other hand, the basal doctrine in civil law and particularly the general and specific law of obligation is of high importance.
