Block Modules
Current offers in the summer semester 2025:
Courses in the field of mediation:
Mediation is becoming increasingly important as a more cost-effective and time-saving alternative to court proceedings. This course offers the opportunity to discover mediation as an interesting additional field of activity alongside your work as a lawyer. The task of mediation is to support the parties in solving problems on their own responsibility. Practical exercises show students the great benefits of mediation for everyday legal practice as well as for private life.
Rhetoric and presentation courses:
“I am the first argument of my presentation” is the motivation conveyed to students in this seminar. In practical exercises, theoretical knowledge about rhetoric and communication is deepened and the development of an argumentative and targeted speech is practiced. The subsequent individual feedback is supported by video recording. The focus of the course is on developing confident and appropriate behavior in speaking situations and overcoming speech anxiety.
Courses in the field of voice training:
Our voice is a decisive factor for a successful appearance when giving presentations and making pleas. It is often given far too little importance. But if you know about the effect of your voice, you can use it all the more consciously. Through individual voice training exercises, students are helped to develop a voice that attracts attention and asserts itself. In various exercises, participants train posture and voice awareness in order to successfully underpin their own arguments vocally and through non-verbal communication.
Courses in the field of negotiation management:
The connection to later professional activities is usually neglected during studies, which is why the seminar “Negotiation Management” offers students the opportunity to learn how to systematically prepare, structure and conduct basic negotiations. The seminar conveys an awareness of how to create and claim value in a presentation as well as the efficient use of non-verbal communication techniques in negotiations. The knowledge is consolidated through case simulations and a subsequent discussion. It is possible to participate in an advanced seminar after completing the introductory course “Negotiation Management I”.
Courses in the field of interrogation theory:
The seminar “Interrogation theory” provides basic knowledge on the tactical, psychological, linguistic and legal framework conditions of a witness interrogation in court. The training material is also explained using real cases from forensic practice in criminal and civil proceedings. Students can actively participate during the seminar and receive a comprehensive script with further information.
